Jane Franklin Mecom (1712-94), Benjamin Franklin’s sister, ran a boarding house near this site hosting legislators and staying informed on political issues.
Abiah Franklin (1667-1752), mother of Benjamin Franklin, raised 13 children. Tradition states Elizabeth Foster Vergoose (1665-1758), “Mother Goose,” is also buried here.
