Adath Jeshurun Congregation (1906)/ First Haitian Baptist Church (1978)

Built in 1906, this temple served Boston’s Jewish community before becoming First Haitian Baptist Church in 1978, now offering multilingual services and programs.

This temple offered the Jewish community space as well as banquet facilities beginning in 1906. Women and men sat together, a new tradition; they also produced youth-oriented programming. In 1978 the building was purchased by the First Haitian Baptist Church and now offers services, Bible study and camp as well as Sunday School in English, Haitian Creole, and French in the same building.
