Laurette Murdock, Houghton Mifflin editor, artist, and author, was a pioneer in Charlestown’s historic house restoration and active in community organizations.

Laurette Murdock was an editor for Houghton Mifflin Company for 21 years until her retirement in 1965. She was one of the pioneers in the restoration of historic Charlestown houses. Murdock was an artist and a gardener, involved in many community organizations. She was the author of Someone is Talking About Hortense.
