Following her mother’s example, she became actively involved in various local societies and charities, including the Carney Hospital and St. Mary’s Infant Asylum. Colbert worked vigorously on political campaigns and was recognized with Mary Colbert Day by Mayor John Collins. Her lifelong dedication to community service, including volunteering for the Red Cross Disaster Team, left a lasting impact on Boston.
