Kit Clark Center: Catherine “Kit” Henderson Forbes Clark (1919-1977)

Catherine “Kit” Clark (1919-1977) was a community activist focused on housing and senior rights. Kit Clark Senior Services on Dorchester Ave. is named in her honor.

Catherine “Kit” Clark was a community activist. She lived in Savin Hill all her life and was involved in local government, higher education, and local civic organizations. She was president of the Columbia-Savin Hill Neighborhood House Service and the Columbia-Savin Hill Civic Association, vice-president of the Dorchester United Housing Association, Director of the Senior House of the Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses, a Republican State Committee member, and vice president of the Republican City Committee. She was on the University of Massachusetts Boston Board of Trustees and was instrumental in the construction of the athletic facility there which is named after her as is the Kit Clark Senior Services organization.
